Kinzie. We were told my father's grandfather, James Cattin, was actually a disinherited son of Kinzie. Census records show he was born in Cook County, Illinois. Cattin was a physician who spoke several languages who died in Arkansas in 1870. All the genealogical searches I have done on Cattin have revealed nothing. I suppose the only way of determining truth to the story would be through DNA testing on the remains of the Kinzies or a direct descendant. It's an unusual story.
