I've been involved in a few other situations where dad thought it'd be a good idea to give the land to one kid and the business to the other, creating a landlord-tenant relationship between siblings (and eventually cousins, as I believe was the case here). Not a great idea.Kevin Byrneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17080568843708159219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2698674352470153088.post-44159734289094822212021-09-23T10:04:16.480-05:002021-09-23T10:04:16.480-05:00140+ DEFUNCT ILLINOIS AMUSEMENT PARKS - https://dr...140+ DEFUNCT ILLINOIS AMUSEMENT PARKS - https://drloihjournal.blogspot.com/p/defunct-illinois-amusement-parks.html Dr. Neil Gale, Ph.D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10605531495401356831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2698674352470153088.post-22210850347920445192021-09-23T03:26:47.321-05:002021-09-23T03:26:47.321-05:00left chicago in 1976, bicentenial. all i remember ...left chicago in 1976, bicentenial. all i remember was the hand pedaled cars and the moms sitting on a bench. adventureland? dispensa's castle?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17789032739395093830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2698674352470153088.post-37956772246701743522021-03-13T13:40:36.551-06:002021-03-13T13:40:36.551-06:00There is a book series at WALMART.COM about growin...There is a book series at WALMART.COM about growing up in Elmwood Park & River Forest and working at Kiddieland. Kiddieland was just one town over from my hometown and we were lucky, as a large family, to go several times in the 1960s.. And drive past it so very often. Lots of happy memories there. Except the Ferris Wheel which little me thought she would truly enjoy but instead terrified me and I kept screaming, "make it stop, make it stop!" Learned I am not so fond of heights. xoxohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03128226709654435169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2698674352470153088.post-24195931832274529882019-06-11T11:15:09.802-05:002019-06-11T11:15:09.802-05:00Our 8th grade class trip was to kiddyland. At the time (78) we were all feeling far to sophisticated for the "childish" rides. 2 decades later I tried to take my children there at least once a year, for a summertime fun day. It makes me sad that one families greed stopped the fun, for the entire population of children and "bored teenagers", who used to take the bus and walk to get to the park. It was a wonderful and safe place to let children loose to "direct the day" and a favorite summer spot that they all begged for year after year.Momma Bearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03215840942640904965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2698674352470153088.post-13937201805870201632019-06-11T04:52:36.320-05:002019-06-11T04:52:36.320-05:00My brother took me on the Tilt-A-Whirl.
