Every Saturday, I wuld take my little sister by the hand and walk around the corner to the Adelphi Theater. Across the street, on the south-east corner of Touhy (Estes?) and Clark, was a large brick building with a horse trough in front. I was told that the building had been the Rogers Park town hall. Is that correct?
I would often go shopping with my mother at the A&P on Clark Street. We moved to West Rogers Park (as we called it then) in 1953, before Romanian Sausage moved into that location. Now I know Romanian and so many years later, I go back to Clark Street to buy a salami there. Every time I'm ther I stop in front of that 2=flat on Touhy to reminisce.
p.s. Do you have a similar history of West Ridge?
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13096605823381081099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2698674352470153088.post-10161679633034019612020-01-29T12:59:53.819-06:002020-01-29T12:59:53.819-06:00What a rich history of this area! What a rich history of this area!Gayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00193744306637154454noreply@blogger.com
